Special Discounts for Topeka Residents on Saturday at Local Attractions

TOPEKA – Saturday, September 28, has been declared as "Topeka Day" by several local attractions. Topeka residents are encouraged to visit local attractions participating in Topeka Day to receive a special discounted admission price. This discount is only available for Topeka residents who visit the attractions on Saturday.

"Topeka Day is a way for us to thank Topeka residents for their support and to give back to our community," said Andrea Burton, president of Topeka Tourism Alliance and the tour center coordinator for the Capitol.

"Topeka has many great attractions and we want to encourage Topeka residents to explore their community. Whether you want to ride the mini-train and carousel at Gage Park, enjoy a guide tour of Old Prairie Town, learn about Charles Curtis or explore the Great Overland Station, just get out and enjoy Topeka this Saturday."

Topeka Day Discounts:
Mini-Train and Carousel at Gage Park, 6th and Gage Blvd
Topeka Day Discount: Half price admission for Topeka residents
Mini-Train regular price $1.25, Carousel regular price $1
Hours are 10am till 4:45pm

Old Prairie Town, 124 NW Fillmore Street
Topeka Day Discount: Half price admission for Topeka residents
Regular tour admission: Adults $4.50, Seniors $4, Children ages 6-12 are $2. Guided tours on Saturday at Noon and 2:00pm

Great Overland Station, 701 N. Kansas Avenue
Topeka Day Discount: $1 off admission price for Topeka residents
Regular admission: Adults $5, Seniors $4, Children ages 3-12 $2
Hours are 10am till 4pm, with the last admission at 3:15

Charles Curtis House Museum, 1101 SW Topeka Blvd
Topeka Day Discount: $1 off admission for Topeka residents
Regular admission $5
Hours are 11am till 3pm.

Kansas Children's Discovery Center, 4400 SW 10th Ave.
Topeka Day Discount: $1 off admission for Topeka residents
Regular admission: Children: $7.25, Adults $7.25, Seniors $6.25
Hours are 10am till 5pm

Topeka Day has been organized by the Topeka Tourism Alliance, which promotes, sponsors and encourages the development of the tourism industry in Topeka. The alliance works closely with Visit Topeka to achieve these goals through education of the public about programs of tourism, recreational, educational, beautification, cultural and economic development.
