TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- A small fuel spill caused traffic disruptions along a major highway in Topeka Tuesday morning.
According to police dispatch, a Ford pick-up truck's fuel tank came loose around 7:25 a.m. spilling between 20-25 gallons of gas on the shoulder of the highway.
The fuel tank could be seen hanging from underneath the truck as vehicles slowly passed it around 8 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Westbound traffic I-470 entering WB I-70, and WB I-70 drivers from the east saw delays as crews worked to clean-up the fuel spill. Traffic in the area was backed up for a mile or more at times.
Traffic congestion cleared up shortly after 8 a.m. Tuesday.
