TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)__A simple traffic violation turned into a short chase that put a man behind bars Sunday night.
Shawnee County Sheriff's office says that around 8:15 pm Sunday night a deputy tried pulled over a Chevy Silverado pickup truck at I-70 and Southwest Danbury Lane for a traffic infraction.
The pickup fled and then lead the deputy on a five minute pursuit through several neighborhood streets.
The chase came to a stop when the driver hit a large stone address marker in a yard at 500 Southwest Yorkshire.
That's when authorities arrested 29 year old Stephen Albright. Albright was booked into the Shawnee County Jail and charged with numerous traffic violations and possession marijuana.
