TOPEKA, Kan (WIBW)-- Easter candy has become an important part of the holiday, but grocery stores still have to find a way to get the candy of their shelves after the festivities.
It's the end of the Easter season, but there are still plenty of chocolate eggs to go around, that means special deals for shoppers who wait to pick up their Easter sweets.
The fact that the candy is out of season, doesn't scare off shoppers.
The candy won't last forever. Employees say that they can be sold out as early as the Tuesday after Easter, as savvy shoppers snatch the discounted chocolates off the shelves.
If shoppers gamble and wait a few days employees say that they can get bags of candy for a dollar--that's a pretty sweet deal.
