TPD Hosts Citizen Response To Active Shooter Training Session

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-A free skills and training session was held Saturday for Topeka citizens if they are ever left in danger's way.

The Topeka Police Department held the "Citizen Response to Active Shooting Training" at Capitol Plaza Hotel.

The training allowed those who attended to learn how to prepare for a dangerous situation and potential tactics to know if you ever get into harm's way.

"I hope to bring this info to Safe Street because it helps prevention and it's big for us," said Irene Caballero with Safe Street.

"I wanted to come because of the Sandy Hook situation and it is something you should be prepared for," said biology teacher, Patrick Schultes.
