TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)__ The Shawnee County Sheriff's Office recognized their most recent graduates Wednesday evening.
12 Graduates were honored at the reception ceremony. They each completed a 13 week course of training and education to learn more about the various aspects of the Sheriff's Office.
The graduates learned more about hostage negotiations, special weapons and tactics, patrol operations and other exercises.
The goal of the Citizens Academy is to build positive relations with the citizens of Shawnee County through education of the daily operations of the Sheriff's Office.
