Shawnee County Missing Nearly $1,000 In Cash
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Shawnee County Treasurer Larry Wilson is taking more heat, but not for what you might think.
Thursday at the Shawnee County Commissioner's meeting Wilson was asked not about the Shawnee County Annex, but about missing money from the Motor Vehicles Office cash drawer.
Eleven pages of documentation showing days where the cash drawer did not balance was presented. As a result, it is estimated that the county is missing just under a thousand dollars.
Wilson said that addressing the missing cash was a personnel matter and needed to be discussed in executive session.
