People who live in South Topeka got to speak to Shawnee County Planning Commissioners earlier tonight about plans to rezone their land from residential to light industrial space.
A public hearing was held at Washburn Rural Middle School to discuss a plan Topeka says will bring businesses to the area.
The proposal encompasses more than 4100 acres between Southwest 57th and Southwest 93rd and Burlingame Road and Forbes Field...
Some had concerns about rezoning -- while others support it.
The Planning Commission has two more public hearings on February 20 and 22.
They will then make a recommendation to county commissioners who are expected to consider rezoning changes in March.
