(WIBW) - Continued drought conditions have one area of Shawnee County saying no to new water users.
Shawnee County Consolidated Rural Water District Number 2 will no longer accept water meter applications for new construction. The Board of Directors approved a resolution that went into affect Monday and remains until further notice.
The district encompasses an area that is roughly west of Huxman Road north to the Shawnee-Jackson County line and south to the Kansas River, including areas north and west of rural Rossville and the north and east side of Silver Lake.
