TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Shawnee County Sheriff's Office is asking the public to be alert in order to reduce the number of burglaries and related crimes.
Authorities say burglaries seem to take place more during the daytime hours during the work week because people are usually away from their homes. They remind residents to be alert when speaking to people unknown to them who come to their door and report anything suspicious.
Anyone who sees a suspicious vehicle or activity may call the Sheriff's Office at 785-368-2200 or 9-1-1 if it's an emergency.
