TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - More weather radios will soon be coming to Shawnee County residents.
Commissioners on Monday approved emergency management ordering a third batch of radios. 500 will be ordered, but emergency management director Dave Sterbenz says more than half of them are already spoken for.
He's taking part in a program where the state picks up 75 percent of the cost so the county can sell them for seven dollars.
People who would like to be placed on a waiting list should call 233-8200, extension 4747. Commissioners told Sterbenz Monday to continue ordering until funding - or demand - runs out.
