Shawnee Co. Appraisal Notices Will Not Be In The Mail For Everyone

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Shawnee County homeowners will not get a valuation notice in the mail if their home's value doesn't change this year.

Shawnee County Appraiser Mark Hixon says it's a cost-cutting move. Those whose property classification changes also will be mailed notices.

Those who do not receive a notice but still wish to know the value of their home can check online at www.snco.us/ap. Homeowners also may call 785-232-4461or visit the appraiser office at 1515 NW Saline Street.

The Topeka Capital Journal reports property values in Shawnee County increased two percent this year, attributing most of that to new construction.
