Several Local High Schools Named Best In Kansas

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)--Several Northeast Kansas schools are being recognized among the best in Kansas by U.S. News and World Report.

Sumner Academy and Blue Valley North received gold medals. Eight more schools were silver medal recipients and 21 earned bronze medals of national recognition.

They include Chapman High, Clay Center Community High, Emporia High, Jefferson County North, Rossville Junior/Senior High, Sabetha High, Silver Lake Junior/Senior High, and Washington County High.

The rankings are for the 2010-2011 school year and are based on required credits for graduation and state assessments.
