TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Sentencing is set for a Topeka man who pleaded guilty to carrying a .40 caliber pistol in furtherance of drug trafficking.
20-year-old Malik Yates pleaded guilty to the charge Monday.
He admitted the Kansas Bureau of Investigation served a search warrant in March at his home and found methamphetamine, the .40 caliber pistol, and $3,000 in cash.
Sentencing is set for November 18th, Yates faces life in prison and a $250,000 fine.
