Semi Crashes Into Motor Home At Rest Area, Killing One

The Kansas Highway Patrol says a tractor trailer rig driven by 68-year old John Boteler of Indiana entered the rest area at a high rate of speed and hit a motor home.

(WIBW) - A big rig smashed into a motor home at an I-70 rest area Thursday afternoon, killing a man.

It happened just before 1 pm at the Solomon rest area. The Kansas Highway Patrol says a tractor trailer rig driven by 68-year old John Boteler of Indiana entered the rest area at a high rate of speed and hit a motor home.

A Texas couple was sleeping inside the motor home. 67-year old Martin bal was killed. 72-year old Joan Bal was injured.

Boteler also was hurt.
