TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Elementary school students were learning all about what goes into their pizza Tuesday.
Nearly 1000 second graders joined in the "From Farm to You" program at the Kansas Expocentre's Domer Livestock Arena. The annual event teaches students the role agriculture plays in their lives.
Students visited 10 different stations learning about the growing and processing that pizza ingredients go through, including beef and swine, milk for cheese, animal health and farm equipment. 13's Jeremy Goodwin joined in on the fun, juggling and telling kids how weather can help or hurt local crops.
Each student also received a slice of pizza from Cici's Pizza to illustrate the message.
