TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -For the second straight year the Christian Cavalry Motorcycle Ministries hosted Hawgs For Dawgs (and cats) as a fundraiser to help open the new Helping Hands Humane Society...

Costs to participate were $20 per rider and $10 per passenger.

Motorcyclists joined together for a 100 mile ride that departed from the new shelter at 5720 SW 21st street and it was all about the animals. Christian Cavalry secretary Heather Fogle said all the proceeds will benefit the Helping Hands Humane Society contribute to opening the new location.

Pastor and rider Beux Bryant said "It is our aim to be a blessing to as many things as we possibly can. This ride gives us an opportunity to help the community and also help the animals that are sheltered here."

The motorcycle riders finished the 100 mile route at the current Helping Hands Humane Society shelter in north Topeka.
