Search Turns Up Nothing New On Osage Co. Remains

OSAGE CO., Kan. (WIBW) - Crews were back out in Osage County Monday, looking for any more human remains.

Osage Co. Sheriff Laurie Dunn says crews were called just before 8 pm Saturday to the area of 118th Court in rural Carbondale. Resident Shirley Johnson reported finding decomposing remains. She told 13 News the remains included a skull.

Dunn would not confirm any details about the remains. She says FIrst Call, a forensic group of out of Kansas City, is working to identify the remains and how long they might have been there.

Dunn says she called in assistance from the Capital Area Major Case Squad. About 40 people were involved in Monday's search. Dunn says they found nothing new, but will follow up in a few more areas Tuesday.
