TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The leader of a Topeka area school district and some of its students went to the head of the class Tuesday.
Or at least the head of the Kansas Senate chamber!
Sen. Laura Kelly, R-Topeka, introduced a pair of resolutions. One of them recognized Seaman USD 345 superintendent Mike Mathes for being named 2012 Kansas Superintendent of the Year.
Joining him at the Statehouse were a group of 5th and 6th graders from Rochester Elementary School. Kelly had a separate resolution for them, honoring their wins in the statewide Music Memory competition at Kansas State University in April.
