TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A proactive approach at saving lives attempted to make Shawnee County streets a bit safer this weekend.
The Shawnee County Sheriff's Department conducted a DUI Saturation Patrol Friday evening between the hours of 11:30 p.m. and 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
The patrol tested 3 for DUI with one arrest, 13 traffic stops,10 warning tickets were issued and 3 notice to appears were issued for no proof of insurance.
The mobilization was funded by a grant awarded by the state for the purpose of preventing, detecting and apprehending impaired drivers.
