TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- It’s that time of year again. Kids are buttoning up their coats and sporting scarves. As degrees drop and the 25th of December draws nearer, West Ridge Mall decided it’s time to bring Santa to his sleigh.
Jingle Bells played as Santa's coming to town. West Ridge Mall held a parade November 12th to welcome the holiday spirit. And of course, to welcome the man in the big red suit. Kids waiting in line to see Santa seem to know just why they’re waiting, what Santa does on Christmas Eve, and what his responsibilities are.
"He. Every time he makes presents; he puts them under the trees,” said Brianna Bartlett.
Santa shared the joy he gets out of the job.
"It's the greatest thing there is. I enjoy the smiling faces, talk to them, and warn them that they need to be nice if they want anything for Christmas,” said Santa.
"I'm a big Christmas fan so I can't wait for Christmas to come. We're listening to Christmas music right after Halloween, and I'm ready for all the fun Christmas activities we can find around town,” said Jennifer Metzger.
And straight from the mouth of the man himself.
"It's far better to give than it is to receive. Merry Christmas, Ho, Ho, Ho,” said Santa.
