Rolling Meth Lab Discovered During Traffic Stop

HOLTON, Kan. (WIBW) -- During a routine traffic stop, Holton Police became suspicious there were drugs in a vehicle they pulled over early Wednesday.

Authorities pulled the vehicle over at about 4:20 a.m. March 14th on south US 75 Highway in Holton for a traffic infraction. Jackson County Sheriff's deputies were called to the scene to assist when officers found what was believed to be a methamphetamine lab in the vehicle.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office Meth Lab Recovery Unit responded to the scene.

Joel Dean Collins, 35, of Sabetha, was arrested. He's being held in the Jackson County Jail for unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence. Bond is pending.
