Police Release Photos Of Bank Robbery Suspect

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- The Kansas Highway Patrol issued an alert Monday following a robbery at Capital City Bank.

The bank is located at 120 SW 6th, a block west on Kansas Avenue.

According to KHP the suspect was last seen moving westbound from 6th and Kansas on foot.

The Topeka Police Department describes the suspect as a black male in his early 30s, 5’7”-5’9” tall, with an average build. He was wearing a gray v-neck shirt with a blue stripe near the neckline, black athletic-style shorts, black shoes, a black baseball hat and sunglasses, and was carrying a black bag.

The initial report from KHP Monday said that the suspect was armed. A later release from Topeka Police said the suspect did not display a weapon or indicate that he had one.

He got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Further information was not released as of 11:30 a.m. Monday.
