MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) - First responders in the Manhattan area cooked up a bit of competition Friday night.
The Riley County Police Department went head to head with the Manhattan Fire Department during a barbecue cook-off. Money they raised benefits the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life.
The teams competed in a pork, chicken and rib cookout.
Riley County Police took top honors in the pork and ribs competitions, while the Manhattan Fire Department won the chicken competition.
The firefighters promise a comeback when they go head to head again June 24th at the Texas Roadhouse in Manhattan.
