RILEY COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) -- Police say a deer is to blame for an accident in Riley County that sent two people to the hospital, including a one-year-old boy.
The single car crash happened Wednesday night (Dec. 26) just after 7 PM in the 6900 block of Anderson Avenue, one mile south of the town of Keats.
Hallie Oltsmanns, of Keats, swerved to miss a deer and her 2007 Dodge Dakota went off the road and struck a light pole.
Oltsmanns was taken to Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan with back pain.
A passenger in the car, one-year-old Keaton Spencer, was airlifted to Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka with a possible head injury.
The child is listed in fair condition at the hospital.
