(WIBW) - A collision between two vehicles in Republic County Wednesday morning claimed the life of an elderly man.

It happened at 9:30 am about a mile north of Belleville.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says 76-year-old Stuart Sutton of Chester, Nebraska was eastbound on Marble Road. The crash report says he pulled out to cross U.S. Highway 81 and his Chrysler sedan was hit in the driver's side by an oncoming semi truck.

Sutton was ejected from the vehicle and died.

The semi's driver, 74-year-old Jack Zaloudek of Kremlin, Oklahoma, was not injured.
