TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)- Kansas disaster relief organizers are encouraging monetary donations for relief efforts.
The Kansas Division Of Emergency Management is urging anyone wishing to donate to the disaster relief efforts to donate cash to organizations rather than donating goods.
K-D-E-M recommends Kansans consider donating to the disaster relief organization of their choice such as the American Red Cross, Salvation Army or the United Way.
Angee Morgan, Deputy Director of K-D-E-M said monetary donations are preferred in disaster situations, because cash donations allow emergency relief organizations to purchase the goods.
