TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A reception was held Thursday night for the Director of Topeka's Safe Streets.
After 17 years with safe streets, Sally Zellers announced her resignation two weeks ago. Her last day is Friday.
Sheriff Herman Jones and Topeka Police Chief Ron Miller hosted the party in her honor.
Sally says it will be quite a big step to walk away from the job.
"My biggest passion has been the love for working in neighborhoods, at the neighborhood level where people really learn they can make a difference about their neighborhood and they roll up their sleeves and really start to take charge," said Zellers.
Sally says she is planning to announce her future plans next week.
