TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - It may have rained on their parade, but the weather didn't dampen spirits at Topeka West High School.
The Chargers were set to celebrate Friday's big homecoming game with a parade, but rain forced them to punt. Instead, they fired up their school spirit with an indoor pep rally.
The band, cheerleaders and homecoming royalty were all recognized. The event also included a skit where Charger faithful tackled a Viking. That's the mascot of Topeka West's homecoming game opponent, Seaman.
The teams kick off at 7 pm Friday at Hummer Sports Park.
