RCPD: Suspect Used Manners During Ogden Robbery

RILEY COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) -- Riley County police continue their search for the man who robbed an Ogden convenience store.

On Thursday, June 14th, they released a surveillance photo of the suspect.

On Monday, June 11th at 2 AM, a white man wearing a dark colored hoodie and blue jeans entered Casey’s General Store on Riley Avenue in Ogden.

Two employees- Carolyn Thornton, 21, and Shanequa Martin, 20- were working at the store when a male entered and demanded money after indicating he had a weapon.

According to an RCPD press release, when the suspect spoke, he used “Ma’am” to address the female clerk and asked her “please” to come to the counter.

The victims complied and the suspect fled the area on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. Thornton and Martin were not injured.

The suspect was wearing what appeared to be a camouflage colored scarf or mask of some sort over his face and wore wire frame glasses.

He was described being medium height with a thin build.

He ran to the east of Casey’s General Store and then ran to the north. The suspect may be armed and dangerous.

If anyone has any information please contact the Riley County Crimestoppers at 785-539-7777 or Detective Runyan at 785-537-2112, ext# 2465.
