TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A public memorial is set for a young girl, the victim of Topeka's first homicide of the year.

Ahliyah Irvin, 8, was found murdered on Tuesday (3/13). Topeka Police say she'd been taken from her home in the Highland Park Townhomes.

A candlelight vigil and tree dedication ceremony is set for Tuesday night at 7, at Dornwood Park, SE 25th and Highland.

The public is invited to celebrate Ahliyah's life.

Billy Frank Davis is charged with Irwin's capital murder, kidnapping and rape.

Davis is jailed on $10 million bond.
