Public Disposes Unneeded Medications For Drug Take Back Day

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-More than 6 million Americans abuse prescription drugs and Saturday, Kansas helped lessen this number by opening 100 locations for safe disposal sites for those medications you don't need.

The Drug Enforcement Administration took part in the nationwide Drug Take Back Day.

Local law enforcement agencies partnered with the D.E.A. and collected unused, unneeded, and expired prescription medications for a safe disposal at the one of the locations, Shawnee Heights Fire Department.

The service is free and anonymous.
