Primary Voter Turnout Is Lower Than Projected


TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Last week, Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach predicted 25% voter turnout. He may have been overly optimistic.

The Secretary of State hasn't provided state wide numbers yet, but a check with local voting officials indicates that the turnout was below the one in four expected last week.

Preliminary reports show that Shawnee County turnout was 23.22 percent, Riley county had a 17 percent turnout, while Lyon reported 15.7 and Geary County had only a 13.33 percent voter turnout.
