OVERLAND PARK -- Steve Kimball, President of the Pottawatomie County Abstract Company was honored with the Kansas Land Title Distinguished Service Award at the Kansas Land Title Association Convention, held August 3-4 in Overland Park, Kansas.
Steve has been a member of the KLTA for the past 30 years joining shortly after being hired as the manager of the Pottawatomie County Abstract Company when Tom and Doris Hart sold the Company in April, 1982.
Steve is a Past President and served as the Executive Secretary-Treasurer for 8 years during with time he was in charge of continuing education seminars held twice a year, overseer of all state conventions, Editor of the Kansas Abstracter newsletter published 4 times a year, and has served as Master of Ceremonies at numerous conventions banquets.
He is a longtime teacher of the Title Insurance class at the Kansas Land Title School held in February each year. He is also the chairman of the Abstract Statue Revision Committee and chairman of the Independent Title Agents Group. He was appointed by the Governor to the 3 member Kansas Board of Abstracters where he is currently the chairperson.
Outside of KLTA, Steve is a charter member and 3-time past president of the Westmoreland Area Chamber, a Kansas Rural Communities Foundation Board Member, a Member of the Manhattan Catbackers Organizations, as well as a member of the Kansas State University Foundation Presidents Club.
