Police Seek Help From Public In Car Jacking

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Topeka Police Department is asking for the public's help locating a stolen Mustang and/or the person who took it.

A man told officers he was at the intersection of SE 21st and Massachusetts at about 2:00 a.m. Wednesday when a man with a gun approached him.

The victim didn't get a good description of the subject, only that he was wearing a dark hoodie and dark pants and was armed with a black handgun.

The suspect took the car, which is a two-door, silver, 2002 Ford Mustang with Kansas tag 613 EGQ. The victim says the suspect drove north after stealing the car.

Police are asking anyone with information about this crime to contact Crime Stoppers at 234-0007, or Detective Wheeles at 368-9022.
