Police Searching For Suspect In Early Morning High Speed Chase

Topeka police continue to look for a suspect that led them on a high speed chase early Friday morning near Highland Park High School.

It began around 2am at 21st and Buchanan when police officers attempted to stop a vehicle for traffic violations.

The driver of the vehicle, a Ford Expedition, crashed on the 2500 block of SE 25th and Wisconsin. The vehicle hit a gas meter and ending the chase.

Police are looking for the driver, a white male, who ran from the scene. The passenger also fled but was apprehended soon after. The Kansas Highway Patrol helicopter is assisting in the search.
