Topeka, KAN. (WIBW)--Topeka police are investigating a Sunday shooting. Officers responded around 12:45p.m. to an apartment complex on Villa West Drive. They found a 36-year-old woman suffering from a gun shot wound.
Medical responders took the victim, who has not been identified, to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police took 60-year-old Shelia Waymire, of Topeka, into custody in connection with the shooting. Waymire lives in the same building as the victim. She was booked tonight into the Shawnee County Jail on charges of aggravated battery and aggravated endangerment of a child.
