Police: Woman's Ex Breaks Into Home, Attacks Her

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- Riley County police say a Manhattan woman's ex-boyfriend broke into her home in the middle of the night and attacked her, even refusing to let her call for help.

The incident happened between 3-3:45 AM on Sunday, December 9, 2012 in the north central portion of Manhattan. An exact location was not provided due to the nature of the case.

The victim, a 22-year-old woman, reported that her ex broke into her home while she was there by breaking out a window. Police say the suspect was in violation of an active restraining order.

According to officials, he sexually battered the victim and at one point, would not let her go and kept her from calling the police.

The case remains under investigation. The suspect could face several charges, including Aggravated Burglary, Aggravated Sexual Battery, Violation of a Protective Order, Criminal Restraint, Intimidation of a Witness or Victim and Criminal Damage to Property. An arrest has not yet been made.
