WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -- A woman was burned Thursday morning after police say she set her boyfriend's mattress on fire.

Police say the 54 year old woman set her live-in boyfriend's mattress on fire while they were both inside a home near 11th and Green around 1 a.m.

The 51-year-old man safely escaped but firefighters found her inside the home. She was unconscious and had burns on her arms, and was taken to St. Francis to be treated.

Police say they don't know why why the woman started the fire. The fire caused an estimated $20,000 to $30,000 in damage.
