Police Suspect Impaired Driving In Hit And Run Wreck

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - One person was extricated from their car after a hit and run near 21st and Central Park Wednesday afternoon.

It happened around 3:30 p.m.

Police say a Blue Ford Explorer, driven by Ray Parnell, was traveling eastbound when it struck a Dodge Intrepid heading west. Parnell didn't stop and continued on for another block, striking a parked car.

The car's driver suffered minor injuries. Police say Parnell's car broke down due to damage near Hampton and Fillmore.

Parnell was cited for several traffic violations and DUI.
