TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Topeka Police Department is asking for help from the public to identify the suspect in a recent home invasion.
On August 6, 2012, shortly before 11:30 p.m., officers responded to a call of a home invasion in the 2400 block of SW 29th Terrace. Police spokesperson Kristen Veverka said the suspect robbed the occupants of the home and stole numerous items including a credit card.
The next day, authorities say that stolen credit card was being used at a local business. A surveillance photo of him and the tan/silver Ford Taurus he arrived to the store in are being circulated.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5’8” tall, weighing 150 pounds. Police say he was armed with a gun, and was wearing a white t-shirt and jean shorts at the time of the home invasion.
