MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- Riley County police say a Manhattan woman was arrested for burglary after she was caught stealing items from a neighbor's home.
On Saturday, October 20th, at 2:10 PM, officials say 38-year-old Heather Mason come home and found her neighbor, 36-year-old Pamela Wallace, stealing items from her house on Abbey Circle. Wallace is alleged to have taken a $20 piece of costume jewelry and a personal check during the break-in. Reports indicate that Wallace lives several doors down from Mason.
Wallace was arrested later that day at the Riley County Police Department for Aggravated Burglary and her bond was set at $5,000. Police indicated that she posted bond and was released from jail.
Reports state that no forced entry was used in the burglary but it is not clear how Wallace allegedly gained access to her neighbor's home. Heather Mason told officers she left her house locked.
