Police ID Source Of Blood In Manhattan Park Bathroom

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- Riley County police say blood discovered in a park bathroom in Manhattan was from an injured person but officials say no crime was involved in the incident.

The gruesome find was made Friday afternoon at the Blue Earth Plaza, the new park located in front of the Flint Hills Discovery Center on South 3rd Street in Manhattan.

A large pool of blood was reported in the public restroom and officers worked to find its source.

A spokesman for the Riley County Police Department says the blood was the result of an accidental injury and that the injured person tried to clean their wounds up in the bathroom.

Crews cleaned the scene.
