TOPEKA -- PodCamp Topeka Saturday is here!
The Topeka/Shawnee County Public Library hosts the annual event Saturday from 8:30am till 4pm in various locations of the library building.
PodCamp Topeka is the city's yearly low-cost "unconference" focused on social media, podcasting, audio and video production and the web. People who've signed up for the today's event through PodCampTopeka.com will have the opportunity to network with bloggers, podcasters and social media enthusiasts and learn from social media creators and experts.
"We call it an unconference because everyone attending the conference is encouraged to share their knowledge and ideas with the entire group," according to PodCamp planning member Alissa Sheley. "We had a great response to the first event last year, and hope the event continues to grow."
The keynoter today is Patrick O'Keefe, who's the founder of the iFroggy Network, a network of websites covering various interests. He's been managing online communities for ten years and is the author of "Managing Online Forums," a practical guide to managing online social spaces. The topic of his presentation is "How to Market Your Stuff to Online Forums and Communities."
The registration cost is $5, plus about another buck and a half for the processing fee. Registrations will also be taken at the door this morning!
