Volunteers at a Helping Hands Humane Society fundraiser

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Helping Hands Humane Society bid guests "bone appetit" at a fundraising dinner Saturday evening at the Ramada Hotel and Convention Center.

The pirate-themed fundraiser entitled 'Canines and Cats of the Caribbean' featured a pet parade and a live auction.

Shelter dogs presented items for auctioning while sporting the latest in doggy fashion.

It was chance for everyone to have fun for a good cause - proceeds benefited the society.

Helping Hands cares for nearly 8,000 homeless or abandoned animals each year.
