TOPEKA, Kan (WIBW) Shawnee County Parks And Recreation hosted it's annual Bark For Life event Sunday.

The day started out with doggie olympics followed by hours of swimming for man's best friend.

All of the splashing around was also for a good cause.

The money raised from the entrance fees to the olympics and the dog swim will go to the American Cancer Society

For some it was just a chance to help--but for others the fight against cancer hit closer to home.

Despite the rain plenty of people and their pups came out to support the cause.
