Pancake Breakfast Benefits Families of Atchison Explosion Victims

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Topeka community gathered to support the families impacted by the Atchison grain elevator explosion last October.

Cargill hosted a pancake breakfast at 3906 NW 16th Streeet to benefit the families of Darrek Klahr and Travis Keil, two of the six victims who died in the explosion.

Fastest flapjack flipper Chris Cakes was there - flipping flapjacks for hungry guests.

100 percent of the money raised will go to the Children's Educational Fund.

Family members and organizers say the community's support keeps them going.

After their pancakes, guests could also try there luck in an iPad 3 raffle.
