Ottawa Woman Escapes Captor, Suspect Still Loose

OTTAWA, Kan. -- On May 5, 2012 the Ottawa Police Department investigated a series of domestic related crimes that occurred in Ottawa and ended in Emporia, Kansas.

Officers were notified at about 9:20 a.m. by the Emporia Police Department that a kidnapping victim, a 32-year-old female from Ottawa, escaped her captor at a residence in Emporia, Kansas after she was taken from a residence in the 600 block of S Walnut Street, Ottawa against her will.

During the incident in Ottawa, police say the suspect battered the victim, stole money and the victim’s vehicle then drove to Emporia. When the vehicle stopped at a residence in Emporia, the victim was able to escape and a citizen helped the victim until Emporia police responded. The victim suffered minor injuries during the incident.

The vehicle stolen is a White, Nissan, Frontier, Extended Cab pickup truck displaying Kansas tag 172-CXT.

The Ottawa Police Department is attempting to locate Jordan J.A. Henson, 26 year-old, White, Male, 6’00”, 260, Brown hair, Hazel eyes, possibly wearing wire rim glasses. If Henson is located please contact local law enforcement with the information.
