FORT RILEY, Kan. (WIBW) -- Fort Riley military families will be celebrated in a special event Friday, June 8, 2012.
Eckrich Meats and Operation Homefront are hosting Fort Riley Military Family Thank You Day from 11:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M.
Operation Homefront is a nonprofit organization providing financial aid to families of U.S. service members.
Friday's celebration includes food and entertainment at the Fort Riley Soldier Family Assistance Center, 674 Warrior Road.
In a news release promoting the event, Operation Homefront said food assistance is the number one request it receives from military families. "As a food company, Eckrich felt it was its responsibility to help meet that need and partnered with Operation Homefront to provide support to military families through the formation for the Eckrich Food Assistance Fund."
