TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Sunrise Optimist Club of North Topeka celebrated its 50th anniversary Saturday evening, as well as the the launching of its next 50 years.
The club considers itself a 'friend of the youth' and has supported local youth organizations from the Boys and Girls Club to students at Seaman High School.
Members say they will carry on the motto to "bring out the best in kids" in the next 50 years.
